Adam Derbyshire has lived in Northamptonshire since a very young age and always wanted to write stories. However real life had other ideas, sending him off into a medical career where the term ‘life long learning’ meant his stories kept being put aside, again and again, so he could learn about pharmacology, wound care and clinical consultation skills.
In 2015, swiftly approaching his mid-life crisis, he decided it was time to either buy the luxury sports car, or try one last time to tell the world about the ghostly ship and crew that sail throughout his dreams. His first novel, Styx & Stones, was released in 2016 and introduced the lost Spanish Galleon, El Defensor and her tragic crew upon the world.
He still lives in Northamptonshire with his wife and children and spends his free moments working hard on the sequel, The Labyris Knight.
He sadly could not afford the Aston Martin.
